To Be Vulnerably Honest

To be vulnerably honest, you were that one mistake I never regretted,
You were an obvious mistake, but I never bothered to correct myself.
For I know in you I will learn;
that through you there will be perfection.

To be vulnerably honest, you were that impossible challenge I am willing to conquer.
Although I am aware that the moment I have you,
is the same moment I have to prepare for losing you.
Yet it is fine, that's why you were a challenge;
a challenge I was never able to conquer.

To be vulnerably honest, you were a music;
continuously lingering beneath my soul,
making my heart burst into romance.
Your melody was soft yet painful
with lyrics that were soothing yet full of thorns.

To be vulnerably honest, you were an art and am a plain canvass.
I was nothing until you came;
until you colored my skies blue.
But then you became an abstract.
I was puzzled in understanding you;
yet still I did not mind, your complexities made you wonderful.

To be vulnerably honest, this is a war and am a novice soldier.
I would take any bullet for you even you were the one holding the gun.

Because to be vulnerably honest, that's how love is supposed to be -
depending your happiness to the one you love even it would cost you your life - your heart.
